The Osage Nation tribal member preview of the new Osage Casino & Hotel in Pawhuska took place on Oct. 4. More than 500 people walked through the doors that evening and enjoyed the games, bar and banquet hall, which served free food for guests. Tours of the property were given to tribal members of the hotel rooms and premises.

The event began with a song performance by the students of Daposka Ahnkodapi, the Osage Nation’s private elementary school. Following the performance tribal leaders and casino officials gave remarks. Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear, Assistant Principal Chief RJ Walker, Congressional Speaker Alice Goodfox, Gaming Enterprise Board chairman Geoff Hager, Osage Casinos CEO Kimberly Pearson and casino employees gave away Pendleton blankets to individuals that made the casino opening possible.

Tribal members played games into the night with many going home with cash in their pockets.
