When it comes to the Avengers, each one of the superheroes on the team is pretty iconic. But none are as mighty as the thunder god Thor. He’s pretty recognizable, his helmet, armor, and of course his trusty hammer. The Mjolnir is famously known for being picky when it comes to who can wield it. Only those who are worthy can lift the hammer. Being as how we usually just see Thor wielding it, and the other Avengers can’t really lift it, we assume it’s a pretty rare thing to be worthy. But guess what? It is not as rare as you think. There have actually been several characters throughout comic book history that have been able to hold, lift, and even use the hammer. We’ve compiled a list of characters that have been worthy enough to do so. Thor’s brother Loki, the trickster god, is always trying to get his hands on the hammer and harness its power. He was actually able to wield the hammer in a storyline called the Inversion, in which Loki was a good guy and Thor was a bad guy. Loki even joined the new Avengers in this story, pretty crazy right? At one point, DC and Marvel had a crossover event that pitted heroes from both sides against each other. During one of these battles, Thor dropped his hammer and Wonder Woman stumbled upon it.
