The Lotus Seven Club runs a drive from Chepstow to Aberdyfi every year (where possible). This animation flies the route using Google Earth Studio.

Note: The Caterham and Lotus Seven Club Fish and Chip Run is a sociable and friendly drive from Chepstow to Aberdyfi and back again. Every effort is made to make it as hassle free as possible for the attendees. However, a great deal of work goes into organising the event and the organisers work throughout the year with the local authorities, The Police, The Piercefield Pub, the Fish and Chip Shop and Motorosport UK to make sure the event is successful. The organisers follow the appropriate rules set out by Motorsport UK.

For the detail people: A KML file was extracted from MyRouteApp.com which was then edited to add town and POI placemarks. Python was written to extrapolate mileage marker data from the "Lat, Long, Alt" track triplets (using a geodesic earth model!) and then also added to the edited KML file. That was then all loaded into Google Earth Studio to do the animation - which was the really time consuming bit. Finally the animation was pulled into a Final Cut Pro project for titles, music and end screens. Simples!
