Ever seen a backhoe on a lake? If you were near Kellogg, MN, and tried to access Goose Lake recently, you would have witnessed some interesting activity.

The Minnesota DNR chose to dredge three to four feet of sediment from eight acres of Goose Lake this past summer. The removal of this material will improve fish habitat and boat access. WSN was hired to provide a pre-dredge survey and periodic quantity surveys to measure the progress of the dredging operation.

Watch the video to learn more about hydrographic surveying and experience the dredging process like never before.

If you have a project that will benefit from a hydrographic survey, contact WSN's Hydrographer Juergen Brunkhorst, LS, CH, at [email protected] or 320-762-8149.
