About the Presenters:
Dr. Brian Murray is the director of the Duke University Energy Initiative. Murray is a research professor at the Nicholas School of the Environment and the Sanford School of Public Policy and a faculty affiliate with the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, where he previously served as Director of the Environmental Economics Program. Murray also serves as a faculty affiliate with the Duke Initiative for Science and Society.

Evan S. Michelson, Ph.D. is a Program Director at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Dr. Michelson is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s Energy and Environment program, which seeks to inform the societal transition toward low-carbon energy systems in the United States by investigating economic, environmental, technological, and distributional issues.

This presentation was a part of the Energy Data Analytics Symposium hosted by Duke University on December 8-9, 2020. The Symposium’s theme was “Transforming Energy Systems with Data Science Techniques.”
