Here are the steps on how to tie a Palomar knot:

Double over about 6 inches of line and form a loop.
Pass the loop through the eye of the hook.
Tie an overhand knot in the loop.
Pass the loop over the hook and down around the overhand knot.
Tighten the knot by pulling on both the standing line and the tag end.
