This was not our best run 😅

We portaged Kahuna after my first swim, and portaged The Hammering Spot after screwing up Champagne. Next time we'll go back with more water 🙏 . Thanks to Robert and Blake for catching gear and helping with portages. And for your patience.

Canyon Creek is a tributary of the Lewis River in Southwestern Washington that has several large vertical drops, an 18 foot waterfall (Big Kahuna) and unbelievable scenery. Robert calls this run "Church" and I can see why. It definitely deserves a little reverence. Approach with Humility, lest Earl strike you down.

Even though we had more carnage on this run than we have ever had, it was an awesome day, the swims were fun and manageable, and we got to do something we love in a beautiful place.

We'll return to the Crik, next time with more water and better paddling.
