Some of the changes for the 2022 Audi A8, A8L and the S8 are the new headlights, taillights, grille and some interesting updates to the lower part of the front fascia.

We’re going to go into detail and have a look at when we analyze and compare the old to the new in front, side and rear a little later in this video. There are also a few changes to the interior.

The engine options are the same as those of the 2021 model year with a 335-hp turbo 3.0-liter V-6 in the 55 version, a 453-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 in the 60, and the beastly 563-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 in the performance sedan the S8. There’s also a plug-in hybrid with a total of 443 horsepower for the 2021 model and it is expected to live on for the 2022 model year as well.

The A8 is only available in the U.S. as the long-wheelbase A8L however I do wish they offered the regular wheelbase as well since I’ve never been a fan of the proportions of the stretched out rear doors on the long wheelbase version.

I get the functionality of it and that it catered more toward the comfort of the passenger, but if I owned an A8 I would drive it myself and prefer the shorter, more nimbler wheelbase while still getting a proper full size German luxury sedan.
