Spoilers for season 1-7 of Game of Thrones

With the HBO series Game of Thrones now rushing towards its conclusion completely separate from George R.R. Martin's source material (A Song of Ice and Fire), the seventh season proved to be the most controversial one yet.

The season is perhaps most notable for bringing together fan favorites Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. While many have been waiting for this to happen, others felt that it was too contrived, rushed, and/or poorly written. But is this criticism justified? Is this storyline not getting the credit it deserves?

In this video I take a deeper look into these two characters, how their motivations inform their relationship with each other, and why exactly they fall in love. I will also explain why this romance was always meant to be, and what it could mean for the end game of the story.
