NEXI is a componentized 3D printed chair.

This chair is designed as a set of nodes and connectors with a continuous fabric seat and back. By segmenting the chair into smaller parts it can be printed using ultra-fine layers, packaged, and delivered more economically than a monolithic print. It also allows for better quality control and replacement of individual parts if damaged.

This video documents the design process with some tips for those interested in pursuing a similar design. The prototype shown in the video is printed at 75% scale using PLA on the MakerBot Replicator 2. A follow-up video will be posted once the prototype is complete.
