Follow up to previous video that teased being lost in the Jungle, here now is the full story. Luckily I had my Samsung S22 Ultra tucked away in my jiwon (robe) when I started out because I was completely unprepared to film and did not realize what was about to happen.

Phra Ajahn Niyom recovered quickly from his injuries and kept in good spirits the whole time. He was always cheerful and seeking ways to improve his spiritual life and follow Buddha's teachings, which I found quite impressive.

In my experience every fellow monk I encountered had an outlook on life that was focused on inner peace, learning how to improve oneself and being kind to others.

When making broad generalizations about Buddhism it's easy to say it's all about suffering, which is kind of true, because it is learning how to deal with suffering in daily life. One of the ways to avoid suffering is learning how to endure hardship and deal with negative things that come your way. The path to learning is by practicing in everyday life, so considering this in context may be make it easier to understand why monks sleep on a hard bed and put themselves willingly through difficulty. This experience of being lost in the jungle was not something I consider difficult, to the contrary it was quite enjoyable and spending time with Ajahn Niyom and learning from him made it even better.
