Well, this is indeed a possibility. The concept of circular runways or endless runways faced many problems and it seemed that it would fail to grow beyond its infancy.
But the brain of this concept Mr. Henk Hesselink came forward and paved a new path for his concept.
In todayā€™s video, we will look at how circular runways are the future of airports. To know more, Stay tuned till the end!

Let's first take the Dallas Fort Worth International airport as an example. The DFW airport covers an area of about 17,000 acres.

Each runway is over three miles long, with four parallel runways measuring 13,400 feet each. Even if they are long, they are still restricted in length. Furthermore, while they have been designed to face the predominant wind directions, they will never be completely in the wind.

Air travel demand is expected to expand at a pace of 4ā€“5% each year in the next few years. The potential for development at the world's main airports, on the other hand, is restricted. The most rigorous expansion limitation is usually runway capacity, followed by airspace, aircraft parking, and terminal capacity. In 2008, up to 15% of all flights originated from airports with limited capacity, a proportion that is expected to climb dramatically over time. As a result, airports contemplating large-scale development frequently seek to add runways.
But numerous problems still arise.

Do you think these circular runways are the future of airports?
