Ford has introduced a special version of the Mustang called GTD.
Mustang GTD is a road-legal version of the new GT3 race car.
Every detail of the Mustang GTD is specially designed.
Almost completely unique carbon fiber body, modified engine, eight-speed rear-axle transmission, adaptive suspension and active aerodynamics.

The 2025 Mustang GTD is powered by a specially developed 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine with a dry-sump oil system.
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a unique eight-speed dual-clutch transmission located in the rear suspension assembly to provide the Mustang GTD with near-perfect weight distribution.
Output will be 800 horsepower, with the engine redline exceeding 7,500 rpm, according to Ford.
It is the most powerful street-legal Mustang ever developed by Ford.

The Mustang GTD has a semi-active suspension that can change both the amount of elasticity and ride height.
It is 40 mm wider than the regular Mustang GT, and in Track mode it also has 40 mm less ground clearance.

The combination of specially developed aerodynamic characteristics results in enormous downforce balanced between the front and rear axles.
A carbon fiber underbody is standard, and hydraulically operated front flaps help control airflow. The wings, bonnet, boot lid, sills, front splitter, rear diffuser and roof are made of lightweight carbon fiber, and there is an active rear wing with hydraulic control.

The grip and cornering stability for the Mustang GTD is provided by 325 millimeter wide front tires - while the rear tires are 345 millimeters wide, mounted on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels or available forged magnesium wheels.
The magnesium wheels offer the perfect combination of weight and durability and have a similar design to the Mustang GT3 race car.

Production of the Mustang GTD will be limited, and the price is expected to start at around $300,000.
