This is a shovel of my design which I have found to be maximally effective for removing the most packed and stubborn patches of ice and snow. It is specially designed for maximum power and maximum ergonomics as there is virtually no need to bend one's back while performing the task of ice and snow removal. This video was made on the streets of Portland, Oregon during a recent snow fall, January, 2024.

The long, two-handled design offers some key advantages, one of which is that it allows me to pivot the load off of my thigh. I also have the secondary handle anchored under my shoulder which provides even more leverage and control.

The "handle" on the secondary handle is also key because it allows for a very strong grip, and a better recruitment of powerful muscle groups in the shoulder and back.

Lastly, given the design of the shovel, it is possible to rotate the primary handle through the secondary handle. In the video, you will see that I am able to quickly turn the shovel around for when it is needed to chop through ice. I am then able to use the secondary handle to apply downward pressure, with gravity assist, to strike powerful blows to break up the ice.
