The Rain Forest! It is dense, damp, dark and disappointing. Well, for one, so little rain forest is left and the Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda is no different. Although spectacular once in it, it is surrounded by humanity and agriculture. Vines are quickly taking over since the elephants are gone.

True to form though... its raining. But we're prepared with rain gear and awning to cook under. We learn that hiking is only permissible with a guide, we almost get ourselves stuck on a very narrow road, and the highlight of our day and night in the rain forest is the hike with Hope. Hope a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic trail guide. The vegetation is dense, the birds and wildlife few, but the view from the swinging bridge spectacular.
