👋 Hello! Today, Jiji goes to Shirakawa-go 白川郷! 🛖 We started our walk from the Shirakawago bus station and we experienced heavy snow with winds as we were walking through the village. The scenery of Shirakawa-go village is beautiful in all seasons, but with snow, everything looks so magical ❄️

📍 SHIRAKAWA-GO is a historic village located in the Shogawa River valley in the remote mountains of Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is renowned for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, which have steep thatched roofs resembling hands in prayer.

🛖 Gassho-zukuri Houses: The village is famous for its unique thatched-roof houses, designed to withstand heavy snowfall in the winter. These traditional farmhouses are constructed without nails, using a method that allows the roofs to be steeply pitched.
