This is a video covering my creative process designing the "Friendly Shadow" character for my Autodale Animated series.
I don't think I've ever put as much thought and effort into the backstory, lore, and motivation of one of my characters. It took me a long time to figure out exactly who the Friendly Shadow was going to be and I think he's probably my best-written character to date.
In this video, I cover my initial ideas for the character, my research, my early drawings and concepts, eventually leading into a 3D model to be rigged, textured and animated. I also cover his personality and his controversial standing on Autodale's dystopian ways.
It was a joy bringing this character to life and I hope you enjoy this video covering that! ^_^
