Our time in the peninsula of Zamboanga has been nothing but eye opening and incredible. Yes, Zamboanga is riddled with it's overt share of negativity but the past is just that: the past. No place in the world is free of negative whispers and struggles that came before. However, instead of allowing fear to keep us from making our way to the island of Mindanao we instead turned that into a flight ticket and came to see for ourselves.

Not only did we encounter some of the friendliest locals in all of the Philippines, but learned a great deal about the many cultures that call this city home, and experienced things we never thought we would experience...and we still haven't even touched the surface!!
