We are going underground and into leading edge mining technology. NSS Canada (https://www.nsscanada.com/) is an Authorized Distributor of Leica Geosystems Products (https://leica-geosystems.com/products), an authorized agent of Hexagon Mining (https://hexagonmining.com/) and developed their own in house software, MOSS -Miner Operated Survey System (https://www.nsscanada.com/moss-systems/), which allows miners to do some of the surveying work themselves, speeding up work on-site significantly.

Business Development Manager Mathew Brown (  / mkmillan  ) joins Mining NOW (https://www.crownsmen.com/miningnow/) to discuss how the technology has evolved and their strategy for keeping clients up-to-date on the latest geosystems solutions including for the mine automation processes and preparing the most current and accurate DTMs (Digital Terrain Model). He also discusses some of the latest techniques in mining monitoring, safety sensors and mining planning.

Like every episode of Mining NOW we also looked at Matthew’s career, starting with him immigrating from Scotland (including some fun family talk) and choosing Mining Engineering to begin his education in Canada.
