The action button on the iPhone is a powerful tool. Unfortunately, by default, it's limited to only a few standard options. But thanks to the power of the Shortcuts app you can customize it and even launch a secret shortcuts menu which will allow you to run not only 1 shortcut but as many as 7 shortcuts while still being able to use the action button as a mute switch. The advantage of this system is the ability to bring you the most used shortcuts in your everyday life without the need to open the Shortcuts app, while still being able to quickly access the mute switch.
