Cuenca is one of Spain's most gravity-defying regions. It sits across a steep spur of a mountain, whose slopes descend into deep gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers. Cuenca itself is the name given to the medieval town in the Castile-La Mancha region of Spain, built on the steep sides of the mountain. The region is sometimes called Spain's Grand Canyon and is a very popular climbing site in this part of the country. Knowing this I was tempted to do some drone flying in the region during the winter time, when there is relatively few climbers so as not to disturb them. There is a lot of evidence of human activity however it is still pleasantly natural in most of the canyon.
