How to: 2005 Porsche Cayenne Water leak source
(Applies to First and Second Gen Cayennes)
Check the drain port under the liftgate. Who knew they have drain ports? I was surprised as well.

The idea of having drain ports under the liftgate struts are good. The issue is no one anticipated water drain in general gets clogged up with dirt and debris. This applies to all drain ports that this car, or any other cars have.
i.e. Sunroof drain, side sill drains, and engine drain holes. They all have to be checked once in a while.

This in particular is just very unique. In my opinion, they should have made it into a valley, instead of a hole. So that nothing gets trapped and clogs the whole. This is simply a case of over-engineering by Porsche. Good try though, not it's up to you to make sure its clean. Or you will be searching for an interior water leak all the time.
We hope this PSA helps others!
