How do you test food allergy and food intolerance? Is it accurate? Is it worth it?

In a word: yes. I find clinically I always want to lower inflammation in a patient and there are two angles you always go at first: food sensitivity and gut health/infections. If either of those are going on, you just don't get better.

There is a lot on the internet suggesting food sensitivity testing is rubbish. That is based on old info from the 60s, 70s and 80s usually, but our knowledge now about immunology and food reactivity is FAR more advanced now. The trick is keeping up with the advancements.

It's true that there are several ways to test and we don't know all the mechanisms yet, but we do know enough to find out the majority of foods a person could be reacting to, causing symptoms and scuppering healing.

In this video I'll walk you through the Precision Point P88 Dietary Allergen Test will show you. I use this as my first test for food sensitivity usually. Why? because of the sheer amount of practical, useable information it gives you. It will help you see if you have classical IgE allergies, if those IgE allergies are improving, if you have IgG food sensitivity and if IgG is bound to complement, creating a much more severe reaction. It will suggest food groups and types of sensitivity (eg FODMAPS, histamines, oxalates, salicylates etc) to look at and gives you an Immune Index of your top likely sensitive foods rather than a great scary list.
