Many fans wondered what happened to Johann Schmidt following the events of Captain America: The First Avenger and were surprised to see him make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War. While Red Skull claimed to be guarding the Soul Stone and told Thanos he’d be required to sacrifice Gamora, was that really the case?
