If you’re no stranger to entrepreneurship and the internet, you know the name Gary Vaynerchuk. He’s been associated with many self made entertainers, Casey Neistat, Jake Paul, Tik Tok star Charli D’Amelio, and traditional celebrities like Jessica Alba. Vaynerchuk’s success is very apparent and inspiring to many young entrepreneurs. His main mantra to achieve this is to “work hard”. This simple message has been praised, but also criticized by opponents. Many argue his content promotes toxic productivity, comes from a place of privileged, and is unhealthy. Though Vaynerchuk is just one piece in a large puzzle coined by the term hustle culture, he’s certainly one of the largest names in this genre people criticize. In this time of uncertainty especially, does Vaynerchuck’s message still hold up or does his advice come from a place of privilege.
