Don’t throw away that ugly wood just yet. I’ll show you how I took some very ugly siding and upcycled that into usable lumber for a garden planter project.

The old siding was cypress which is great softwood for outdoor projects because it won’t rot! I didn’t let it go waste and turned this into some nice 1”x4” (actual dimensions) lumber.

This project required the use of a table saw, thickness planer, and jointer, but I also demonstrate how to do this with only a table saw.
