I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I finally got my hands on the notorious 7.3L Godzilla engine from Ford. you guys have been wanting me to review this engine for a while so here it is!

First off I love that this large gas engine in the f250 superduty's is made in Windsor Ontario Canada. after reading that I was probably a little bias but overall I really like this engine.

I think that ford going to a simple push rod v8 engine is going to greatly improve reliability for these engines as well as give you guys a good strong engine. Ford really seemed to listen to the consumer.

The main reason why I think ford wanted to design this engine was to have a viable replacement for the 6.7 powerstroke. most fleets now a days are tired of dealing with modern diesel engines and having a simple powerful reliable gas option is a perfect alternative to the very complex and expensive diesel options.

now there main downside to the 7.3L gasser right now is the potential lifter failure issue. It seems like the lifter roller and cam shaft lobes are having the hardening shave off and send metal throughout the engine.

personally I think this has something to do with fords variable displacement oil pump only putting out like 6 psi of pressure at idle. and it also seems that these lifter failures are coming from trucks with high idle time. but only time will tell what exactly is really going on.

I do think the issue is a little overblown but it does seem like this may actually be an issue unlike what ford is saying.

I hope you guys liked the video!
