Hey guys welcome to a brand new video. Today we will be taking a look at a aircraft that catches everyone's eyes! Its such a sleek looking aircraft and its called The Icon A5! When I first saw the aircraft I was stunned not only because of how it looks but also because of the ability to bring this aircraft to the market and it become such a catch. So in this video we're going to take a deeper look at what the aircraft has to offer and what it takes to own one.

The ICON A5 is an American amphibious light-sport aircraft designed and produced by ICON Aircraft. The first flight for this aircraft occurred on July 7th, 2014 and 20 days later it made its public debut at Oshkosh! Then 2 years later, the very first customer deliveries began. The development of the aircraft is an interesting one. The founder of ICON said "it's not about the usual metrics of speed, range, payload, altitude, and complex cockpits. It's about getting you out there and interacting with your world.". That's why the cockpit looks like it was meant to be in a 2025 Ford Focus. The cockpit has a flight control stick, and integrated Garmin Aera 796 GPS that is removable. This made it not just interesting to aviation enthusiasts but significant interest from outside of the aviation community. The Icon A5 is powered by the Rotax 912iS Sport piston engine which can be fueled by both 91 Octane Auto or 100LL Aviation. This engine model absolutely dominates the market for smaller aircraft like this one and kit planes with over 50,000 of these engines been produced. The aircraft also has some impressive safety features such its Spin-Resistant Air frame which works due a combination of its Wing Cuff, Ailerons, Wing Flaps and Planing Wingtips. On top of that the Icon A5 features a parachute known as IPS or the ICON Parachute System which have saved lives at altitudes as low as a few hundred feet. If you want to fly the ICON A5 but you're not a pilot already. You would need to get a Sport Pilots License which is a complete training course that an aspiring pilot would take that would include approximately 27 flight hours.
