I had a rare weekend off in my kayak bass fishing tournament schedule and decided I really wanted to take my Hobie Lynx up Paint Creek to see the beautiful limestone cliffs that I heard about. These are apparently Glacial Escarpments, or cliffs made by glaciers from what I understand, and it really is so pretty and so different from anything I've ever kayaked around... I highly recommend this little paddle/pedal up the creek! We launched on the main lake (Paint Creek Lake) at the State Park ramp (also known as the campground ramp), and went upriver somewhere around 3 miles total, but we started seeing cool cliffy/rocky stuff soon after leaving the ramp. The last little bit up the creek we hit some shallow gravel bars that we couldn't float over at the current water levels, so we beached the kayaks and waded upstream a ways just for fun. There was a little current flowing against us as we went upstream, but it was an easy paddle/pedal. I fished as I went, but mostly I enjoyed a rare relaxing day out on my Hobie Lynx. My buddy, Brad, found a nice smallie with a ned rig as we were wading up in the super skinny waters, so there is some successful fishing too! :)

My next two tournaments are river tournaments and I don't usually film those since I try to go as lightweight as possible on the Lynx for rivers, so no fishfinder, no cameras, and no big batteries! So I'll see you guys in a couple of weeks at the next lake!

Thanks to Strictly Sail for my always amazing Hobie Lynx kayak, and for having in-stock the Mustang re-arming kit I need to fix my inflatable PFD before this weekend! Check them out at their shop in Cincinnati or online: strictlysailandkayak.com/girlgonefishing
