Actor Erika Alexander (American Fiction, Get Out) presents the Writers Guild of America West's 2024 Paul Selvin Award to Academy Award-winning writer Cord Jefferson in recognition of his writing of American Fiction, based on novel Erasure by Percival Everett.

The Paul Selvin Award is "presented to that member whose script best embodies the spirit of the constitutional and civil rights and liberties which are indispensable to the survival of free writers everywhere and to those whose defense Paul Selvin committed his professional life."

The 2024 Writers Guild Awards LA. show was held on Saturday, April 14, 2024 at the Hollywood Palladium and hosted by Niecy Nash-Betts, an Emmy and NAACP Image Award-winning actress and producer (Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Rookie: Feds).

The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding writing in film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio, promotional, and graphic animation categories.
