The Mare of Easttown episode 7 trailer gives us a look at how the limited series might end. The episode will air this Sunday on HBO and HBO Max. Mare Sheehan (Kate Winslet) has followed Billy and John Ross to their father’s fishing cabin on the river. Mare believes Billy is the father of Erin’s son DJ and her killer. She is probably wrong about this as Jess has brought evidence to the police station that may contradict that. At the end of episode 6 we saw her give the chief a photograph from Erin’s journals, but we couldn’t see what it depicted.

We also saw a gun in the episode 7 trailer that matched the service revolver that shot the bullet that ended up in the tree in Brandywine Park. It belongs to Betty’s husband Glenn Carrol, but it’s not clear how he’s connected to what happened to Erin. Glenn had an affair with Mare’s mother Helen.

The limited series is coming to an end. We expect to get confirmation on who DJ’s father is, who Erin’s killer is, and why Billy confessed in the last episode. The picture Jess gave to the chief seems to be important. From the finale trailer it looks like there will be a time jump after Mare confronts the Ross brothers at the river. We expect she will make progress in therapy in relation to Kevin’s death and things will improve with Siobhan, and Carrie.
