This outdoor table was built with very few complicated woodworking techniques making this a great DIY project that most everyone can tackle. Nominal size lumber from any big box store is all you need for this design. The table was made from 2x4’s, 2x8’s, 2x10’s, and 6x6’s and then finished with Minwax Polyshades and Spar Urethane.

The table seats 8 comfortably and is 40” wide, 8.5’ long and 36” in height. We used counter height chairs and an oversized umbrella. So far this table has been great for outdoor dining and large gatherings. The 6x6 legs are my favorite part, really making this table seem robust and sturdy. If building another outdoor table or any patio furniture I may use a less glossy finish as this shows all imperfections in the wood and dirt and fingerprints. I did use many tools in this video but something very similar can be made using very few tools. The major techniques of assembly and materials used make this a more simplistic woodworking project.
