Beijing (National Stadium), PR OF CHINA 08 AUG 2008 - 24 AUG 2008
All my other Olympics videos were taken off Youtube so this video may be on the chopping block. I have some videos on Vimeo under this same handle.

I was in my apartment in Manhattan just across the East River from Randall's Island and the Reebok meet at Icahn Stadium when Bolt shocked us all with his 9.72 WR. It was weird for him to be in a 100 at all back then. Less than three miles from where I was standing, I missed a surprising WR (and next-level progression of a legendary season and career) in person. Look at how I'm trying to connect myself to Bolt by posting this video and telling that boring story, like I was part of it all. Shameless. Like I was telling Ato the other day, . . .

Includes profiles and buildup and after-race assessment of each round.

I always felt worst for them. A winning effort on a losing team.)

Olympics.com posted a June 27, 2023 letter from Usain Bolt:

"Usain Bolt: Beijing 2008 is where everything changed for me"

"Ahead of the Winter Olympics in 2022, the eight-time Olympic champion reflects on how the last Olympics in China completely changed his life."
