Hey Guys!

Welcome to part01 of Sync’ing rushes in Avid Media Composer!! Apologies that this one had to be split into two parts again but there is a good reason!!! Firstly, I did a record of my sync’ing an entire four day shoot for a short film so that I could account for all the little things that crop up when sync’ing for real that I may have missed if I did a scripted video. Then of course that record ended up being about 2hours and 45mins long. So really it’s great that I was able to shorten it down to two (roughly) half hour parts!!

In this first part we’ll cover the basics of building a sync map using time of day timecode, some useful keyboard shortcuts to map, doing dupe tests as well as general advice and tips for things that come up as I go through the footage :)

As always, I hope you find this useful and you get something you can take away to your projects!
