Australia and New Zealand have sent surveillance flights to Tonga to asses the damage after the island nation was isolated from the rest of the world following the eruption of an underwater volcano that triggered a tsunami. In dramatic footage, the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai volcano could be seen erupting a day before, sending thick plumes of ash and smoke into the sky.
