This year the mining tailing's from the Long Lake gold mine are supposed to be removed and the area reclaimed.
The mine opened in 1908 and operations continued until 1937.
The arsenic from the gold mines tailings have been contaminating Long Lake since operations began.

We went out and documented and explored the old mine site and tailing's so that people will be able to look back and remember what was once there after it has been removed.
