The mummified body of a woman was found under a piece of scrap metal in northwest Orange County in 1993. The woman, who has never been identified, had been shot in the head.

Earlier this year, Detective Kevin Wilson of the OCSO Cold Case Unit began reexamining the murder. He submitted the victim’s DNA for genetic genealogy testing. The goal: identify the mystery woman and catch her killer.
