In a bustling New York City, Irma, a quirky and loveable airhead, shares an apartment with her determined roommate, who dreams of marrying her wealthy boss. Their lives take a comical turn when Irma meddles in her roommate's love life, unintentionally leading her towards the charming Dean Martin. Martin, a juice-bar operator with a golden voice, catches the attention of a self-proclaimed manager while working alongside his funny friend Jerry Lewis. As Irma's roommate finds herself torn between her dream of wealth and her unexpected attraction to Martin, the trio embarks on a rollercoaster of romantic misadventures.
