today i'm breaking down my absolute best practice strategy into 4 steps.
for about 6 weeks during audition prep, i focus on one excerpt per day. i set up the mic and my computer, and i spend a few hours making the excerpt as perfect as i can possibly imagine.
like, spotless. uncuttable.
i'm cleaning up the mistakes, i'm shaping my phrases, and i'm imagining all the things that an audition juror might hear.
i want every single jury member to be completely confident in the precision of my playing and mesmerized by the musical journey i'm expressing.
and it all happens during self-recording. it's a HUGE strategy for me, and i want to teach you exactly how to do it, step-by-step.
so in today's video, i'm going over:
how my playing sounds before vs. after self-recording
