While the project is still in its early stages, sources suggest that Volkswagen is exploring the possibility of a Scirocco EV. Reports indicate that the German automaker is evaluating internal design, engineering, and manufacturing proposals, awaiting the green light from VW CEO Thomas Schafer.

Set to debut around 2025, the Scirocco EV would share the same platform as the next-generation Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman models. This platform, known for its versatility and performance, would also underpin other exciting models like the Cupra Dark Rebel concept and the rumored Audi TT revival.
