Kai is an #f1b goldendoodle with a coat that is more curly. While I'm probably not going for total DIY dog grooming, I've learned that it's super important to brush and maintain him in-between visits to the groomer.

My groomer explained why goldendoodles get matted and recommended the best brush for curly goldendoodle coat. It's made all the difference! Before I started using this dog brush, Kai became very matted behind his ears and on his belly.

Because I didn't understand how important it is to start early when brushing a Goldendoodle puppy, it was impossible for the groomer to detangle him, and he had to shave those areas. To keep this from happening again, he told me exactly what to do to prevent matting on goldendoodles. So if you're in need of a great dog brush for doodles and the right tools to trim around your dog's face, you might want to stock up on them too.

When looking for the best brush for curly goldendoodle coat, you need to look for a slicker brush with long pins that have an angle on the end. We also used it on Zuma and found that it's also the best brush for wavy goldendoodle coat.
