Strats were also available in hardtail (non-trem) models, one of the first ever custom strats in transparent blonde with gold hardware is referred to as a “Mary Kay” Strat, the original custom colors (except for Candy Apple Red and Blonde) were based on automobile colors, and Stratocaster serial #0001 belonged to David Gilmour!
