Finally, after 4 attempts the two sandhill cranes I've been keeping my eyes on had a successful hatch. It's currently the end of May and they've been trying since January. The day before we noticed hatching was beginning, but couldn't capture emergence due to it occurring overnight. I got out there at first light and this is what we captured over the course of 6 hours.

The second egg was laid 48 hours after the first so I will update if the second hatches successfully. Hopefully there isn't too much time difference and they abandon it.

Footage was filmed with a Canon m50 mark 2 and a Sigma 150-600mm lens.
