The 2021 Mercedes Benz CLA250 redefines the term “entry level”. Although the Mercedes Benz A class is the most inexpensive entry in the German brand, the CLA simply offers next level driving experience. The more athletic sibling to the A class sports almost identical interior and exterior styling.

This particular CLA 250 is equipped with a 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder producing 221 horsepower and 258 lb/ft of torque mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission. The engine may not feel powerful, but is just what this segment of buyer is looking for in a subcompact luxury sedan. Something nimble to get through city traffic, yet compact enough to fit in tight spaces.

The exterior styling mimics the much more expensive Mercedes Benz CLS, except with awkward proportions due to the “coupe” style roofline and such a short wheelbase. But once you enter the car, the interior certainly redefines the term “entry level”. With aluminum trim, leather accents, and piano black panels, the interior is nothing short of breathtaking for the $37,800 asking price. Equipped with, in my opinion, the best infotainment system in the industry, the MBUX system. With touchpad/touchscreens everywhere you look, such as the steering wheel, main screen, and the touchpad in the center console, you are never more than an arms reach away from the most crystal clear and responsive infotainment system in the industry.

You are probably considering the 2021 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and the 2021 Audi A3 alongside the CLA, but the CLA will edge both of them out in actual usability (not to mention design). The 2021 CLA is packed with the latest technology, a stunning design, and a driving experience that fits city use like a missing puzzle piece.
