Water pollution is a concern, and it's only getting worse. Not only is it a rapidly growing issue in the ocean, with the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, but the rivers of the world is actually where it's much worse.

These rivers are causing concern not only within the rivers themselves, but to the marine life in the ocean as well. It is estimated that millions of tons of plastic enter the ocean every year through rivers. With global waste generation increasing, the problem is only getting worse. There are a few organizations, though, that are working on developing a solution to the issue.
