Tesla's Supercharger program -- and free, unlimited Supercharger access -- was one of its strongest selling points when the Model S (and eventually Model X) were in their infancy.
But as Tesla has grown it has been forced to cut back on its Supercharger policies - first making Supercharging a perk only for referral program customers and then making it limited based on a set amount of electricity.
Throughout this however, all older Model S and Model X cars which were purchased with truly free, unlimited Supercharging were able to keep that privilege, even when they changed hands.
Now that's changing (electrek.co/2019/07/22/tesla-removes-free-unlimited-supercharging-used-cars/). And we think there's a good reason for it.
