Blacksmith Walter Sorrells shows the forging of an integral bolster Chef's knife. In this "Pops Project of the Month" Walter forges, heat treats and puts a spectacular curly maple handle on the chef's most important kitchen tool. Forged from "silver steel" (also known as BG-1407) sourced from Sheffield, England, cradle of the modern cutlery industry, it features a stunning hamon and -- as the name suggests -- a bolster that's forged right into the steel.
