In Memory of Paul Lemieux 1955-2020

Recorded 1980 at WAAF Studios Worcester . I hope you enjoy listening back 40 years ago when Paul was the Mid-Day Jock and Music Director.

"Joe Biedrzycki"
Paul and I both cut our teeth on FM Rock Radio at WAAF in the mid-seventies, right after we both graduated from Assumption College, me in 1975 and him in 1977. We were known as the "cleanest guys on the air", and both got trophies (with feather dusters sticking out of them) in 1976, for our "efforts to make us LOOK as good as we SOUND!"...since neither of us could stand working in a messy, disorganized studio! As I was Promotions Director, and he was Music director, we also shared "mid-management" responsibilities, and sat in many a meeting together, serving more than one General Manager, and at least three Program Directors. Several years later, in 1993, when I found my old WAAF cronies on the air at WZLX, Paul was there, too.

I left 'ZLX in '91, and came back there in 1993...and Paul was still there! He was such a pleasure to work with, so professional, so personable and so knowledgeable of the music we all helped to make what is today called "Classic Rock". I lost total track of him for the last 25 years, and always hoped life had been good to him. It seems that, except for ALS, it was. The world at-large, and certainly FM Rock Radio, at least in New England, is better now for his contributions, and I am sorry that "catching up to him" will have to wait some more years.

Adieu, my good man. I will hold Paul and his family in my prayers and we can all be sure that he is maintaining the playlist of the ultimate angelic music format --forevermore. Peace to you all.
