Current Tesla Factories. Tesla currently operates out of four full-operational facilities. Three are in the United States, and one is in China.

In 2017, Elon Musk said that Tesla would eventually build 10-20 Gigafactories around the world. So, the current score is three down (Nevada, New York, Shanghai), seventeen to go.

✅Where does Tesla buy their batteries?
Like most car companies, Tesla sources its batteries from major producers so it can focus on its core mission: building electric cars. The company's 2170 cells, which are currently used in Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, are produced by Panasonic at Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada.

Tesla took ownership in 2010. The plant currently manufactures the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y employing 20,000 people as of June 2021.
