This patient was born with rickets a vitamin D deficiency that causes weak bones. He has undergone multiple surgeries since birth on his knees, and recently on his hip. He has been unable to walk normally and came to me with severe back and hip pain. When we checked his weight balance, he was carrying 30 pounds more on his right side, primarily due to a short leg.
